12/01/11 - I've just finished a new style of closed boots with a magnet fastening and I'm quite happy with them! :) They are incredibly easy to put on/off. Even easier than a stud fastening. I've been experimenting with a magnets for years, but I was not able to find the right ones. I've tried a couple of different kinds of a paper thin magnetic tapes and even though they were thin enough to be hidden under the boot's padding they were not strong enough and the boots kept falling off. But couple weeks ago one of my repeat customers (thank you so much again Suzie) sent me a link to an online store which sells a tiny magnets which are strong enough. I gave them a try and they work great! So I'll be using them from now on on a different kinds of boots. The ones I've just finished are perfect for a x country and many other disciplines. They are hand stitched and will be available in a plain black or with a contrasting padding and elastic straps. $20 per pair. Pictures available here.
02/02/12 - Some of you, my wonderful customers, already know that I have had a left hand surgery recently. They should remove the stitches next Friday, so I should be back to tack making again really soon! Unfortunately, I'm also going through a major career change since new year and I won't be able to make tack full time anymore! I am NOT leaving the hobby!!! And I do not wish to stop making tack either! But from now on I'll be able to do this on the side only (2-3 days per week) so it will take me longer to finish custom orders! :( If you are on my wait list already and would like to cancel your slot and see if any other tack maker would be able to complete your dream tack set sooner, just LMK I'll completely understand! If you'd prefer to stay on the list than you don't need to do anything. I will get to you number! Slowly, but surely! :) I do not take any new orders!
